Why is the BMW iX a finalist?
BMW’s mid-size iX effectively combines electric power with performance and the luxury features BMW SUVs are known for. So, yes, quick acceleration and hunkered-down handling are part of the iX’s repertoire. The iX, although expensive, also has some of the best looking upholstered seats, and thankfully they are very comfortable to sit in too. Topping things off is plenty of range: 377 miles on a full charge from the xDrive50 version in the Edmunds EV range test.
What was special?
BMW’s latest technology is on full display in the iX. Smartphone integration, voice assistant commands and even the sound system are a bit above the competition.
